The head of the Verkhovna Rada, Andrii Parubiy, signed a law adopted on February 7 stating that Ukraine’s membership in the European Union and NATO consolidated in the Constitutio. This is reported by the press service of the Parliament.
It is reported that the speaker said about the ongoing attempts to register the draft decree on the cancellation of the Rada’s decision, by which people’s deputies finally approved the constitutional changes regarding the course of membership in the EU and NATO.
"We received an explanation from the lawyers of the apparatus and the regulation committee, and they gave a clear position on this issue: changes to the Constitution are considered by a separate procedure, unlike other legislative acts, and they are not subject to the rules that can cancel their actions," said Parubiy.
