The Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, Serhiy Pashinskyi (People’s Front faction), has said that during the explosions at military depots of the Ministry of Defense, the ammunition worth more than USD 2 billion was destroyed.
Pashinskyi noted that the Committee has developed the so-called «training manual», which dealt with the necessary steps for storing ammunition in military depots.
According to the Chairman of the Committee, these recommendations were handed over to the Leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
«Unfortunately, I must officially declare that nothing has been done in a year,» – noted Pashinskyi.
The Head of the Committee stressed that according to official information, starting with the explosions in military warehouses in Svatovo and topping off with the emergency in Ichnia, «the ammunition worth of more than USD 2 billion has been destroyed.»
