Deputy Minister of Health, Chief Sanitary Doctor Viktor Liashko has said that the Ministry of Health predicts a peak growth of coronavirus spread in Ukraine in the near future, and offers to strengthen quarantine measures.
“We will offer and offer tougher quarantine. It is necessary to limit people’s mobility to pass the peak growth of patients with coronavirus infection as planned, without heavy loads on hospital capabilities,” Liashko specified.
The deputy minister noted that the situation in the European Union countries is being carefully studied.
“We predict we will soon see a peak rise of coronavirus disease in Ukraine and offer tough measures. Our calculations show that be implementing additional measures to isolate people and limit their mobility, we can significantly reduce the number of critical cases, as well as significantly reduce the number of deaths,” Liashko emphasized.
At the same time, the Minister of Health Maksym Stepaniv, on the air of the “Right to Power” show on the 1 + 1 channel, has said that Ukraine needs to strengthen quarantine measures to counter coronavirus.
“The Ukrainian authorities are doing everything possible to protect citizens from the coronavirus as much as possible. That is why on April 2, the Cabinet of Ministers tightened quarantine measures in Ukraine,” Stepaniv said.
Stepaniv is convinced that in order to “prevent Spanish or Italian scenarios in Ukraine, we need to strengthen quarantine measures.”
According to the Minister of Health, restrictive measures during quarantine will relate to the movement of people’s mobility, visits to sports grounds and squares, the ban on mass events, etc. In addition, personal protective equipment required to go out.
“The terrible pandemic outbreaks in some European countries, in my opinion, are caused by the fact that they were too slow in introducing restrictive measures,” Stepaniv summed up.
As The Journalist reported, Avakov announced possible date when situation will normalize in Ukraine.
