Petition for recognizing Holodomor as genocide in Ukraine gains required number of votes in Germany

An online petition on recognizing the Holodomor in Ukraine of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people, posted on the website of the German parliament, was signed by more than 50,000 people, necessary to being reviewed. This was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine in Germany, Andriy Melnyk.

“A petition calling on the Bundestag to recognize the Holodomor as an act of genocide gained more than 50,000 signatures ahead of schedule! This is a huge victory for Ukraine! Sincere thanks to the initiator, Natalia Tkachuk, and all those who are not indifferent! Ahead is a very difficult work with deputies. We hope for success,” said in a statement.

Petition 89118 was registered by the activist from Munich, Natalia Tkachuk. The collection of signatures continues until the end of the day on May 27. Anyone can sign it, no matter of country of residence.

As The Journalist reported, Parubiy called on Kenya’s parliament to recognize Holodomor of 1932-1933 as an act of genocide against Ukrainian people.
