President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the Law “On the Basic Principles (Strategy) of Ukraine’s Environmental Policy for the Period until 2030” a month after it was adopted by the government.

This is reported by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

“The main tasks of the updated Strategy are to identify and systematize environmental challenges and threats and, as a result, reduce their number. This applies to increasing the number of solar power plants, and measures to reduce air pollution and water, and in general changes in public administration through the introduction of environmental norms and standards.

It is an axiom that only modern environmental standards integrated into all spheres of our life can stabilize the state of the environment. Moreover, the system that we laid in the updated Strategy successfully operates in European countries. Of course, it must be tested in our realities. This is the doctrine of the formation of a new environmental policy,” says Minister of Ecology Ostap Semerak.

Semerak noted that Ukraine still has a lot of work to do in this direction.

The objectives of the State Environmental Policy Strategy of Ukraine may be reviewed every 5-6 years, depending on the effectiveness of their implementation.

As the “Journalist” reported, the European Parliament continues to struggle with plastic waste.
