Observers Special monitoring mission to Ukraine of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE SMM) said that the drunk gunman forced them to pass on patrol mined road in Petrovskyi village in Donetsk oblast.
This is stated in the operational mission statement.
«On June 22nd in the east in the direction of Petrovskyi village (uncontrollable government area – 41 km south of Donetsk) patrol OSCE SMM at the crossroads saw anti-tank mine TM-62 to the remote control, stretched to the mine out of the bush on the north side of the road», – noted observers.
According to SMM, a member of armed formations with signs of intoxication approached the vehicle of the mission «armed with an automatic weapon (AK-74). He ordered the observers to immediately leave the area, adding that they would not be further east».
«Despite the fact that the command of the SMM told him about the presence of a mine, the militant did not allow the car to leave in a safe direction», observers added.
The OSCE stressed that «they saw other remote control wires on the road».
