On the sidelines of Conciliation Board, a briefing was held by People’s Deputy Anton Herashchenko on providing information on the murder of activist Kateryna Gandziuk. According to Herashchenko, the case was investigated qualitatively; the police detained five suspects and organizers of the crime. At some point, disgruntled activists intervened and shouted «Who killed Katya Gandziuk» and disrupted his speech in the Rada. For more details, see the video of The Journalist.
Herashchenko said that Kateryna Gandziuk died as a result of an attack by people who bought acid and splashed it on Gandziuk, and the police found the organizers and perpetrators of this crime.
During the speech, Herashchenko, one of the women in a T-shirt with the inscription «Who ordered Katya Gandziuk» accused Herashchenko of lying. She urged journalists not to cover Herashchenko’s statements.
«You are constantly lying. She died yesterday. Your system killed her. Why are you lying that you did all the work? What did you do? You personally wrote all nonsense. You killed her! Ask for forgiveness from her, kiss her grave», said the activist.
Herashchenko noted that as of today, the names of those who ordered the murder of Kateryna Gandziuk are definitely known by two people – Serhii Torbin himself, who is suspected of organizing the murder, and the customer himself. But Torbin is still silent.
«The police and the SBU are working to determine the possible customer of this crime. Until yesterday, we assume that the organizer, through lawyers, was sent promises that Gandziuk is alive, sit and be silent, do not say anything, you will receive about five years, and you will come out in three. But after her death, it is obvious that the organizer will receive a life sentence if he does not make his soul easier and does not tell who ordered this horrible murder», said Herashchenko.
