At least 42 people have been killed since the beginning of the protests against President Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela, Reuters reported.
A representative of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Rupert Colville, said that at least 40 people were killed in recent clashes in Venezuela, including 26 killed by pro-government forces, five killed during house raids and 11 killed during looting attempts.
Over 850 people were detained during the protests between January 21 and 26, including 77 children. At the same time, on January 23, 696 people were detained across the country, which is a record number of detentions in Venezuela over the past 20 years.
As The Journalist reported, one person died, second went missing in France in a result of avalanche.
