As reported by The Journalist, Serbian Orthodox Church does not recognize the canonity of Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Why Antioch and Serbian Orthodox churches supported Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) in providing Ecumenical Patriarchate with autocephaly of Orthodox Church of Ukraine was explained by Director of the Department of Religious Affairs and Nationalities of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine Andrii Yurash.

«Only two churches (Antioch and Serbian churches) in a certain way, they do not even oppose autocephaly, but only today they declared support for Moscow model for solving the issue of creating a local church in Ukraine», said Yurash.
It is noted that the Antioch and Serbian churches were in favor of considering this issue at Pan-Orthodox Council.

At the same time, Yurash stressed that no church said that Ukraine does not deserve and does not require an autocephalous local church, reports [Unian](https://www.unian.net/politics/10335858-v-minkulte-obyasnili-pochemu- antiohiyskaya-i-serbskaya-cerkvi-podderzhali-rpc-v-voprose-avtokefalii-ukrainy.html).

«We understand what these two churches are. Antioch is Syria (Damascus), although the patriarch is now in Lebanon, and according to our data, his office in Balamand is guarded by Russian special services (Balamand Assumption Monastery is an Orthodox Stavropegial monastery of the Antioch Orthodox Church, located 10 km south-east of Tripoli – Ed.)», said Yurash.
As for the Serbian Orthodox Church, Serbia is a long-time strategic partner of Russia.

«The second thing that prompts Serbian church is the existence of very close problems. We should not forget that she has a problem in both the Macedonian and Montenegrin churches, although Constantinople has made a very important step in this direction: it will not interfere at this stage in deciding question of autocephaly of these two churches», said Yurash.
