In the Donetsk oblast, 60 children were poisoned at the local summer camp, the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Donetsk region reported.
The Sloviansk local Prosecutor’s Office opened a criminal investigation into the mass food poisoning in the children’s health and recreation center Yastrebok, which is located in the village of Sosnove, the Liman district.
On Monday, July 16, after dinner, at least 60 children felt sick, fever and nausea. Currently, 33 children, aged from 9 to 16 years, were hospitalized to Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Lyman medical institutions with symptoms of acute intestinal poisoning.
All children who felt unwell were hospitalize. There are total 134 children in the camp on rehabilitation.
At present, all measures are being taken to establish the reasons for the mass food poisoning and to bring to justice those responsible for it. Samples of food for (which the children were fed) were selected.
As «The Journalist» reported, a children’s summer camp in the village of Tsybli is still open despite the food poisoning incident.
