The Polish consulates in Ukraine will resume issuing work visas from May 4, according to the Polish government website.
The Polish consulates in Ukraine temporarily stopped working on March 16.
“We inform that from May 4, consular offices in Ukraine resume issuing visas. In the initial period, we will issue visas for agricultural and horticultural work, as well as for international transportation. In this regard, on April 30, applicants who have relevant documents on agricultural and horticultural work, as well as international transportation, can register for applying for a visa in the electronic registration system e-konsulat,” the statement reads.
According to the Money.pl publication, the employment mechanism in Poland during quarantine was agreed upon by the diplomatic missions of the countries.
“It was possible to develop a mechanism that allows workers from Ukraine in an absolutely safe way to get a job in Poland. In this matter, consular services of Poland in Ukraine, as well as several ministries, reached an agreement,” the statement reads.
This step is a response to the repeated calls of Polish employers and workers from Ukraine. Since both parties requested the possibility of employment of Ukrainian citizens for seasonal work.
