Polish author won the Booker International Prize

Polish novelist Olga Tokarczuk won the prestigious Man Booker International Prize in 2018. This was reported on the official Man Booker International Prize website.

This year, the Booker Prize ceremony was held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Ms Tokarczuk took the prize for her novel «Flight», that have been translated into English by Jennifer Croft. The £50,000 award will be split evenly between the writer and her translator.
Olga Tokarczuk was born in Sulechów, Poland, in the family of native Ukrainians.
The Man Booker International Prize is an international literary award which was announced in June 2004. Until 2015 the award was given every two years to a living author for a work published in English or generally available in English translation.
Since 2016, the award has been given annually to a single book in English translation, published in Great Britain.
