Poltava court closed criminal case against mayor of Kharkiv Kernes

Kyiv District Court of Poltava decided to close criminal proceedings against the mayor of Kharkov Gennadiy Kernes and his guards Vitaliy Blinnik and Yevhen Smitskiy on charges of kidnapping and beating members of the local Euromaidan in 2014.

This is stated in the report, published on the page of Kernes on Facebook.

«August 10 judge of the Kyiv District Court of Poltava, Andriy Antonov, the case on charges of mayor of Kharkiv Gennadiy Kernes, Interior Ministry officer Vitaliy Blinnik and security guard Yevhen Smitskiy was declared closed in connection with the refusal of accusation of the indictment», the statement said.

It is also noted that the decision can be appealed within 7 days.

As The Journalist reported Kernes promises to completely replace the emergency heat main of Kharkiv before the heating season.
