US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Russia had intervened in the electoral process of US for decades, and will continue to do this, so Washington will take all the necessary measures to stop ‘em, Voice of America reports.
“It goes without saying. They were a threat to our elections in 1974, intervened in our elections in the 80s … We should expect in 2050 Russians will be at it still,” the US Secretary of State said.
Pompeo also added that US President Donald Trump ordered to pay special attention to combating Russia [and other opponents] interference in US elections.
As The Journalist reported, Special Prosecutor Muller stated that in 2016 Russia had interfered in the US presidential election.
