President Petro Poroshenko met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Chrystia Freeland who arrived on a visit to Ukraine, the press service of the head of state said.
“Today there is no soldier who will receive less than 27.6 thousand UAH. On average, the financial supply will exceed 30 thousand UAH. As I promised, Ukrainian servicemen on the frontline will receive almost a thousand hryvnias a day. I want to say that we started from 600 hryvnias per month,” Poroshenko said and thanked Canadian partners for supporting reforms in Ukraine.
In addition, Poroshenko noted that the judges took the oath, the full composition of the Supreme Court was formed and the head of the newly created Anticorruption Court was elected
Poroshenko also called on Canada to support the tightening of sanctions against Russia in response to the so-called passport decrees.
The parties discussed the deterioration of the situation in Donbas in the context of the next provocative actions of Moscow.
The President stressed the importance of deploying a peacekeeping mission under UN auspices in the temporarily occupied territories of Donbas, including the uncontrolled line of the state border between Ukraine and Russia.
