President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko commented on the draft law of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on non-recognition of the results of the presidential elections in Ukraine.
As the press service of the head of state reported, Poroshenko said that the bill on non-recognition of the presidential elections in Ukraine confirmed Russia’s true position and showed why it had tried to send its observers to the elections in our country.
“I think this is a diagnosis. I think this is a disease. When someone submits a bill on the non-recognition of the elections in Ukraine to the State Duma of Russia, it simply means that they think that this is the territory of the Russian Federation. They think in the idiom of a single nation,” said Poroshenko.
“I have a very unpleasant message for them – Ukraine is and will be a sovereign, independent state. And the elections will be determined by the Ukrainian people, not by the State Duma of Russia,” the head of state emphasized.
Poroshenko added that Ukraine would never return to the Soviet Union or the Russian Empire.
As The Journalist reported, the State Duma registered a draft statement on the non-recognition of presidential elections in Ukraine.
