President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of May 16 on planning organization in the security and defense sector of Ukraine.
Corresponding decree No.225/2019 was made public on the website of the head of state on Thursday, May 16.
“According to Article 107 of the Constitution of Ukraine, I decide to enact the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on May 16, 2019 on planning in the security and defense sector of Ukraine,” the document says.
Control over the implementation of the decision assigned to the Secretary of the NSDC.
At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers should ensure the conduct of a defense review, a review of public safety and civil protection, a review of the state of cyber defense of critical information infrastructure, state information resources and information, the protection requirement of which is established by law; approve, by June 30, 2019, the procedures for conducting a review of public safety and civil protection and a review of the state of cyber defense of critical information infrastructure, state information resources and information, the requirement for which protection is established by law.
In addition, the government must, until August 30, 2019, approve the projected indicators of the state budget expenditures for the medium term, with their indicative distribution to the components of the security and defense sectors.
