Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has rejected the accusation of former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko that police during early parliament elections worked against his European Solidarity Party.
Avakov wrote about this on his Facebook page.
In an interview with Ukrainska Pravda, Poroshenko said that “every statesman must accept the choice of the people.”
“This is the choice of the people. Can I say work was conducted against us? Yes, it was. The police worked against us, as well as Sharii group and others groups, organized inside the country. Did they manage to prevent us? No,” the former president said.
In his turn, Avakov responded to the former head of state, writing that ” Poroshenko lied shamelessly, justifying his defeat at elections by saying ‘police worked against’ him.”
“The police, as well as the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a whole, did not work against him, but for fair elections. We worked for people and for Ukraine! Alas, for Poroshenko to lie is the same as breathing for him… and this is why he is losing! He brought the country to such an emotional state that people really wanted to believe to any honest person,” said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As The Journalist reported, Lutsenko accused Horbatiuk of TV PR and warned him about official responsibility.
