The presidential candidate, the current head of state, Petro Poroshenko, promises after being re-elected to adopt by the parliament amendments to the Constitution, regarding the decentralization and liquidation of the governor’s institution and replace it with position of prefect.

Poroshenko said this at the NSC Olimpiyskiy, the presidential press service reports.

Poroshenko said that “immediately after the presidential election I will initiate amendments to the Constitution [in terms of decentralization – ed.], which will completely abolish the governor’s position”.

According to the president, this process is a continuation of the decentralization reform – instead of the governor position there will be prefect with “larger and smaller functions”.

The head of state explained that “the executive power is transferred to the communities, and the control functions will remain in the remit of the prefect.”

As The Journalist reported, Zelensky told why Kolomoisky’s people work for him.
