Poroshenko signed decree, supporting development of nuclear energy in Ukraine

President Petro Poroshenko signed decree No.104/2019, in which he instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to submit bills on the development of nuclear energy for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada. The document was published by the press service of the Presidential Administration.

The decree concerns innovations to increase the level of security, radiation safety and the energy independence of the state.

In particular, the document deals with the design and construction of power units No. 3 and No. 4 of the Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant, improvement of the protection mechanism against inflation of funds of the financial reserve for decommissioning atomic blocks, changes in payments of socio-economic compensation of risk to the population living in observation zones, the implementation of the pilot project “Power Bridge Ukraine-European Union”, etc.

As The Journalist reported, Petro Poroshenko signed the Strategy for Environmental Policy of Ukraine until 2030.
