As the «Journalist» reported, the European Union extended economic sanctions against Russia.

In connection with such a policy of European countries, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the leaders of the European Union for the decision to extend sanctions against the Russian Federation.

«Important news from Brussels: the leaders of the European Union adopted a political decision to extend economic sanctions against the aggressor country. I am deeply grateful to all our friends in the EU for the unbreakable unity and solidarity with Ukraine», the President said.

Poroshenko specifically thanked German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron for «providing an objective assessment of the situation in the occupied Donbass and recognizing the Kremlin’s clear responsibility for the gross failure to comply with the Minsk agreements».

«The price for aggression will continue to grow in the future if Russia continues to undermine the peace process and ignore its obligations», the Ukrainian president stressed.
