President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko proposes to rename the street of Ivan Kudri in Kyiv in honor of the US Senator John McCain, the farewell ceremony with which the head of state visited the day before in the United States of America. With the corresponding initiative, president appealed to the city council of Kyiv, reports Pryamiy with reference to official a message from representative of president in Verkhovna Rada Iryna Lutsenko.
«The president returned from the United States, where Senator John McCain, the great friend of Ukraine, passed away. Therefore, president appeals and asks parliamentary faction to support his appeal to city council of Kyiv to rename street of Ivan Kudri – a terrorist, a Chekist operative who acted against Ukrainian national liberation movement – in name of Senator John McCain», Lutsenko said.
As previously reported by The Journalist NATO headquarters will be named after John McCain.
