Poroshenko orders border guards not to let Russian observers in for elections

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that he will instruct Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service to deny entry to Russian observers who intend to monitor the Ukrainian presidential elections in 2019.

The head of state announced this at a live program aired by the ICTV television channel, the presidential press service reports.

“I, as president of Ukraine, will issue an order, as supreme commander-in-chief, to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine not to let in [Russian election observers – ed.]. And I guarantee you and the Ukrainian people that this order of the supreme commander-in-chief will be executed,” Poroshenko said.

As The Journalist registered, 89 people has registered as presidential candidate in Ukraine.
