President Petro Poroshenko signed the law «On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Regulation of Certain Phytosanitary Procedures», which established fines for violations of plant quarantine legislation by workers in phytosanitary laboratories.
As the press service of head of state says, the introduction of the law will allow harmonizing Ukrainian legislation in sphere of quarantine of plants with requirements of the legislation of the European Union.
Law amends the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, which, inter alia, established a fine from officials of the phytosanitary laboratory for violating the legislation of Ukraine on plant quarantine.
Also, amendments were made to the Law of Ukraine «On Quarantine of Plants» and new terms were introduced in the field of plant quarantine, in particular, phytosanitary examination by laboratories of any form of ownership is envisaged.
Law also provides for the establishment of the Register of Authorized Phytosanitary Laboratories and the Register of Phytosanitary Certificates issued.
