Poroshenko signed a law encouraging citizens who chose military service

The head of the state Petro Poroshenko signed a law «On Changes to Certain Laws of Ukraine on the Improvement of Certain Issues of the Citizens’ Military Service ».

It is reported by the press-service president of Ukraine.
The law provides opportunities to servicemen who are recognized decision of military medical commission as unsuitable for military service for health reasons, to continue his service.

« Combat experience, moral and business qualities and motivation for military service of such servicemen, despite their physical condition, can be realized in military posts that do not require physical exertion», the report says.

According to the adopted changes the law will also allow: increasing from 23 to 30 years the age of admission of citizens as cadets of higher military educational institutions; raise the age limit for the age of retention of women liable for military service to 60 years, as already defined for men; continue in a special period of military service under a new contract for a period of 1 to 10 years; to release or enter into a new contract for servicemen whose contracts have been forcefully extended after the end of their term in a special period and to military personnel who have concluded the contract before the end of the special period and to declare demobilization.
