The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has instructed the government to expand the subsidies program in connection with increased gas tariffs.
According to the press service of the Head of State, Poroshenko said this at the meeting on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the creation of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.
«As the President, I put a very strict demand to the government: it must expand the subsidy program and increase the funding for the implementation of this program. It is necessary to protect the population and in general anyone for whom this increase is critical from the growth of tariffs,» the Head of State said.
The President recalled the situation with the increase in gas prices last time, when, thanks to the introduction of subsidies, it was possible to compensate the costs for the least protected segments of the population and to remove all fears connected with this decision.
«We emphasize that neither single person, nor a single unprotected family will feel the increase in tariffs on their own budget,» Poroshenko stressed.
As The Journalist reported, Klitschko urged not to pay for gas with additional charges in the period of absence hot water in Kyiv.
