President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to plan a separate meeting on countering Russian Federation elections meddling.
The Head of State posted this on his Facebook page.
«Next year, we, Ukraine, and many of our partners are expected to hold important elections that will determine the pace and quality of our development and interaction in the medium term. Kyiv, Brussels and Washington, and the vast majority of Western capitals have no doubt that the Kremlin is preparing large-scale interference in the electoral processes,» – the head of state said.
According to Poroshenko, he agreed with the leaders of the EU and the US to closely coordinate efforts and interactions at all levels.
«I instruct the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to provide a separate meeting on countering interference in the Ukrainian elections,» – Poroshenko said.
As The Journalist reported, six US senators presented a «smashing» sanctions bill against Russia.
