President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Russia is preparing to interfenre in elections to the European Parliament in order to undermine the unity of the European Union.
«Russia stabs in the back, from the rear. It seems that the tragedy, the terrorist attack on the MH17 and the case of Skripal should have become a sufficiently cold shower to finally get rid of the illusion: Russia is not going to play games – for its crazy ideas, it is ready to use the most cynical and cruel methods,» Poroshenko stressed.
According to the President, the goal of this hybrid war is to undermine the foundations of not Ukraine, but the entire democratic world «first of all not by direct blows, but from inside.»
«Russia is being prepared not only for the Ukrainian elections, but also for the European Parliament elections very actively and for the elections in individual EU countries. For what? To undermine the unity of the European Union,» the president convinced.
As it is known, elections to the European Parliament will be held in May 2019.
