ThePresident of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has stated that the Russian occupiers will not be able to hide their crimes, committed in Crimea, from the international community.

The Head of State posted on Twitter.

«I welcome the UNESCO Executive Council decision on the start of monitoring the situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol,» – the President said.

«The Russian occupation authorities will not be able to hide their crimes from the international community. They will not escape the responsibility. Crimea is Ukraine!» – Poroshenko stressed.

According to the report, published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the UNESCO Executive Council has already made the 10th consecutive decision regarding monitoring of the situation in the Crimea peninsula since Russian occupation.

«The decision was made following consideration of the UNESCO Director General report, published on the eve of the session, which stated the gross violations of freedom of speech and media by the occupation authorities, harassment of the cultural and educational rights of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars, facts of destruction of cultural heritage sites by carrying out illegal archaeological excavations in Bakhchisarai, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, etc.,» – the Foreign Ministry stressed.
