President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the Anti-Corruption Court will be formed before the elections. In particular, the creation of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court is expected to be completed in February 2019. He said this at a meeting of the National Investment Council at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, UNIAN reports.
“I am proud that we are developing Ukraine, keeping our promises and investing. We will not stop the reforms, I assure you. The fight against corruption will be continued. The creation of an anti-corruption court will be completed in February,” Poroshenko said in a statement.
In addition, Poroshenko recalled other components of the anti-corruption system – the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office – and also said that 2,600 corruption crimes had already been investigated and "have already been evaluated by the court."
Recall that the selection of judges to the Anti-Corruption Court continues now. Until January 26, members of the Public Council of International Experts should check the candidates and veto those who are doubtful. In total, 32 questionable candidates out of 49 have already stopped participating in the competition.
As The Journalist reported, Ukraine dropped to 53rd place in the most innovative countries according to Bloomberg rating.
