President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the country should actively develop the tourism industry, and special attention should be paid to green (rural) tourism.
Poroshenko announced this at a meeting of the Regional Development Council of the Kirovohrad Oblast, in the city of Kropyvnytskyi, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“This is my task – there can be no tourist periphery in Ukraine. In each village we will develop green tourism. In each city of regional subordination there should be a high-quality hotel, high-quality guides, high-quality interactive multi-language graphics explaining what can be seen in Ukraine. This is our duty,” said the head of state.
The President noted that, the tourism industry around the world accounts for about 10% of gross domestic product, while in Ukraine this figure is 1.5% of GDP.
As The Journalist reported, “Migrant” operation will be conducted throughout Ukraine from March 1.
