President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the «First Minute of Peace» action in the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War stated that Russia planned to dismembered Ukraine into several pieces in 2014.
«In the spring ‘14, Russia planned to dismembered Ukraine into several pieces. We broke this insidious plan», – Mr Poroshenko said.
He said that in 2014 Ukraine was less ready to the war with Russia than the Soviet Union when it clashed with Nazi Germany.
«Many politicians were having the senseless hope that the aggressor can be pacified. 80 years ago, in the spring 1938, the Führer made the Anschluss of Austria. Is it not on this scenario the Ukrainian Crimea was annexed 4 years ago?», – asked the Head of the State.
«In the Second World War Ukraine was attacked from the West. Four years ago the war came from the East», – Poroshenko added.
As «The Journalist» reported, the EU intends to expand the sanctions list against Russia.
