As The Journalist reported, protest over transport fare rise held In Ternopil.

The Executive Committee of the Ternopil City Council has reversed its decision of October 30, according to which the fare for the trolleybuses increased to UAH 8 and for the routebuses to UAH 9, from November 1.

This was reported by the Head of the patronage department, aide to the mayor of Ternopil, Kateryna Kalush on her Facebook.

«Having considered the public appeal in order to prevent social tensions, the executive committee decided to cancel its decision of October 30, on raising the fare for public transport from November 1,» the decision said.

It is noted that today’s decision also restored the previous tariffs, set by the city executive committee on September 27, 2017.

This decision comes into force tomorrow, November 6th.

Also, members of the executive committee instructed the City Government to order an independent audit of tariffs in Ternopil public transport.
