The European Commission has decided to provide EUR 1.2 billion of support to Ukraine amid coronavirus pandemic. This was reported by the press center of the Office of the President.

The EC decision must be approved by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU. Then, Ukraine will receive the first EUR 600 million tranche.

The country will be able to receive the second tranche after it fulfills a number of EU conditions.

“The EU decision is one of solidarity and also proves Ukraine was right to make its European choice. A friend in need is a friend indeed,” Zelensky said.
