Presidential debate at NSC Olimpiyskiy will cost almost UAH 6 mln

Holding a debate between presidential candidates at the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex (NSC Olimpiyskiy) will cost approximately UAH 6 million.

This was announced by Zurab Alasania, the chairman of the board of directors of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (NOTU), 112 Ukraine reports.

“The main thing is to rent the stadium itself: it will need at least 2 days to arrange all and build a stage there. Then it depends on the scenes themselves, how it will be located – in the middle of the stadium or to the side, and depends on what screens will be there. There should be cameras, equipment, lighting, – together it will cost about UAH 5.9 million. And this is an estimate,” said Alasania.

“And, if it is proved that this is a political agitation, then they have to pay to the channels that will broadcast debate,” the chairman of the NOTU said.

According to him, the payment channels should be at their price: in particular, the Central Election Commission have info on channels’ prices. The issue of ticket sales is also not resolved yet.
