Weather forecasters warn of a high level of air pollution in Kyiv, which will continue until August 3rd, press service of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergencies.

It is noted that prior to August 3rd, meteorological conditions are observed in Kyiv, contributing to the accumulation and content of harmful impurities in the surface layer of air – the anticyclone nature of the weather, daytime high temperature and night delaying air layers.

«According to the data of the observation posts of the Central Military District (Central Geophysical Observatory – Ed.) named after Borys Sreznevsky, the level of pollution with nitrogen dioxide (a toxic substance that can cause acid rain – Ed.) reached 5 – 6 daily average concentration limit in the areas Bessarabska and Demievska sq., Obolonskyi ave, Dovzhenko st., Victory ave», – said in a statement.
It is also noted that the level of pollution with formaldehyde (toxic gas – Ed.)

Reached 5 – 7.5 daily average in the areas Bessarabska and Demievska sq., Obolonskyi ave, Dovzhenko str., Victory ave., Lesi Ukrainki blvd., Popudrenko str. and Kaunas str.
