According to the British prime minister’s office statement on Twitter, Jeremy Hunt was appointed as the new Foreign Minister of Great Britain.

«The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP as Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs,» – the message stated.

Hunt is a member of the Conservative Party. He was Minister of Health in the first and second offices of David Cameron. In addition, from 2010 to 2012, Hunt was Minister of Culture, Media, Olympic Games and Sports of Great Britain.

As «The Journalist» reported, Boris Johnson has resigned as UK foreign minister.

It should be noted that Johnson’s resignation was over Prime Minister Theresa May’s plans to leave the European Union. Theresa May supports the so-called "soft" exit from the EU (the creation of a free trade zone with the EU for industrial and agricultural goods and the preservation of the Union’s customs standards on the British borders).

Johnson believes that this strategy will put London in a dependent position in relation to the European Union and that Great Britain will be deprived of the opportunity to influence the decisions made in Brussels.
