The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, has said that the Iranian military will block the Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Gulf of Oman in the southeast with the Persian Gulf in the southwest, if the United States will continue her sanctions pressure policy. Mr Rouhani told this in an interview with NBC news agency.
Rouhani stressed that his words are not just a warning, but «reality.»
«If the Persian Gulf waterway is to remain free and secure, it must remain so for everyone,» – the Iranian president said.
Also, Rouhani noted that the US authorities cannot stop the supply of Iranian oil to the world market.
