The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has handed over the state awards to the soldiers on the occasion of the Ukraine’s defender’s Day.
«The Head of State signed a decree on awarding the military personal for courage and selfless actions, shown in defending of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,» – the Presidential press service reports.
Poroshenko has awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky III class to one soldier posthumously; ten Orders of Courage III class, seven of them posthumously; 19 heroes were awarded with the Defender of the Motherland medal, two of them posthumously.
In addition, the Head of State has awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky II class to two military men, the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky II class to 14 soldiers, the Order «For courage» III class to 53 military, for significant personal contribution to strengthening the defense capacity of the Ukrainian state, courage, dedication and high professionalism shown during the combat, exemplary performance of official duties.
Twelve more military men were awarded with the Order of Danylo Galitsky, twenty military were awarded with the «For Military Service to Ukraine» medal, and five military men were awarded with the Defender of the Motherland medal.
