President of Ukraine, President of the Norwegian Parliament discussed war in Donbas

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has met with the Parliamentary delegation of the Norwegian Storting [Parliament], led by President Tone Wilhelmsen Trøen, the press service of the Ukrainian Leader reported.

«The interlocutors discussed interparliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and Norway. The Head of State thanked for the firm position of the Norwegian Parliament in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,» – the report said.

In her turn, Mrs Trøen assured in her intention to support the Ukrainian-Norwegian inter-parliamentary dialogue, as evidenced by the recent creation of the Friendship Group [with Ukraine] in the Norwegian Storting for the first time in the history of bilateral relations.

In addition, the interlocutors discussed the security situation in Donbas, the implementation of the Minsk agreements and the de-occupation of the Crimea. The parties also discussed further steps for releasing of Ukrainian political prisoners detained in Russia.

As The Journalist reported, Norway invests EUR 300-400 million in renewable energy in Ukraine.
