The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko noted that Ukraine does not withdraw the issue of Membership Action Plan (MAP) from the agenda, Hromadske reports.

“I believe that nothing better than NATO has been invented in our part of the continent and will not be in the near future. Therefore, for me, Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance is the most effective way to protect our independence,” Prystaiko said.

The Foreign Minister noted that the MAP issue was not withdrawn from the agenda, since future membership in the Alliance and the EU remains Ukraine’s priority.

“There all the necessary formal mechanisms – if you need MAP, okay, let it be MAP. We will apply for it when we are ready to get a positive answer, and when Ukraine will be ready to do it,” the minister said.
