Prystaiko told about issuance of first permits for exhumation of Polish burials in Ukraine

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko in an interview has said that Ukraine is ready to meet Poland in matters of historical memory. However, Vadym Prystaiko stressed that he expects similar steps from the Polish side. According to him, the Ukrainian side has already granted the first permits for the exhumation of Polish burials, Radio Liberty reported.

To Prystaiko, Ukraine is ready to meet Poland in matters of historical memory. “There are first permits issued to carry out exhumation works. We hope that this will slightly unblock the whole situation,” the minister said.

At the same time, the Minister noted that the position on this issue is fundamental for Ukraine.

“We also have raised questions of our historical memory on the territory of present-day Poland. We are ready to move towards in this issue, but we demand from Poland the same steps towards us,” Prystaiko said.
