Russian President Vladimir Putin assured US President Donald Trump of the readiness to save gas transit through Ukraine after the implementation of the Nord Stream-2 project and to extend the transit contract after 2019 if the dispute is settled in Stockholm Arbitration.
Putin said this at a press conference in Helsinki after talks with Trump, reports «Current time».
«Mr. President (Trump) expressed concerns about the disappearance of transit through Ukraine. I assured the president that Russia is ready to preserve this transit. Moreover, we are ready to extend the transit contract, which expires next year, if the dispute between business entities is resolved in the Stockholm Arbitration Court», Putin said.
As «Journalist» reported Trump and Putin alone will discuss the situation around Ukraine.
