Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov said that parliament could consider and approve the bill provides for the reduction in the number of people’s deputies, during the next session, which begins on February 4. He stated this on the air of the program “Freedom of Speech”.

According to Razumkov, the Constitutional Court made negative conclusion regarding bill No.1017, which provides for a decrease in the number of deputies from 450 to 300.

“Therefore, parliamentarians can approve this draft law at the next session,” the speaker said.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted that the Constitutional Court returned the bill on the deprivation of the mandate of deputies who absent from work and button pushers.

“Personally, I am sorry that is the case. I believe, nevertheless, if the People’s Deputy is irresponsible to his duties, then he has nothing to do in the Verkhovna Rada. Let them do something else,” Razumkov noted.
