The occupiers are increasing pressure on people who have not renounced Ukrainian citizenship, said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Colonel Maksym Prauta, referring to information from the Defense Intelligence Directorate.

“The Russian occupation administration in Donbas are increasing the pressure on the residents of the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts, who do not wish to renounce Ukrainian citizenship. In particular, managers of individual enterprises do not pay wages or reduce its size to employees who do not have so-called republican passports,” Prauta said.

At the same time, employees of enterprises are informed about the possibility of obtaining Russian citizenship as a matter of priority, subject to the availability of a “DNR / LPR passport”.

In addition, according to intelligence data, among people of retirement age there are intense rumors about the preparation of "government orders" to pay pensions only to holders of "DNR / LPR" passports and forced to give up passports of citizens of Ukraine.

"This causes discontent among the local elderly population because of the reluctance to replace documents to preserve the possibility of receiving pension payments from the Government of Ukraine," said the representative of the Ministry of Defense.

As The Journalist reported, the militants attacked Ukrainian positions one time over past day.
