The Russian military and mercenaries in Donbas get passports of terrorist organizations "LNR" and "DPR", said the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense Maksym Prauta, referring to the data of Ukrainian intelligence.
In this way the occupiers are trying to hide the presence of the Russian military on the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
Prauta stressed that the Russian command is stepping up measures to conceal the next rotation of Russian officers in senior positions in the formations of units of 1st and (Donetsk) and 2nd (Luhansk) Army corps of Armed Forces of Russian Federation.
During rotation, Russian personnel servicemen crossed the uncontrolled (by Ukraine) section of the Russian-Ukrainian border under the direct supervision of the special services of the Russian Federation.
“In order to avoid leakage of information about the presence of Russian military personnel and mercenaries (citizens of the Russian Federation) on the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, in the shortest possible time they will receive passports of the so-called “Republics"; passports will get primarily officers of the Armed Forces," said the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense.
As The Journalist reported, the SBU detained 71 foreign intelligence officers in 2018.
