Relatives of Ukrainian political prisoners and human rights activists appealed to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky with a request to introduce the post of commissioner for the release of hostages of Kremlin.
The corresponding appeal from 10 public organizations was published by Crimean Human Rights Group.
“In the context of the need to return Ukrainian prisoners of Kremlin to their homes and support them and their families until the moment of liberation, we ask you to support the actions proposed below, which we believe will contribute to the liberation of our relatives,” the text says.
So, one of petitions is the introduction of the post of presidential envoy for the release of Kremlin hostages.
It is noted that this man and his team will work on developing a strategy for the release of both Ukrainian hostages who are being held in the Ordlo, and those who are being held in the Crimea and the Russian Federation.
In addition, the commissioner will be responsible for finding ways to free the hostages, create a humanitarian negotiating platform for freeing the hostages, and attract foreign experts, national leaders and opinion leaders to participate in the negotiation process, if necessary, will facilitate the implementation of measures to ensure state support for the hostages and their families.
