Relatives of the victims of the Sknyliv air show disaster will receive UAH 2 thousand of financial assistance

The Department for Social Protection of the Lviv City Council stated that by the 16th anniversary of the Sknyliv tragedy, the relatives of the victims will receive financial assistance.

«By the day of memory of the victims at Sknyliv airfield, we, on our part, support those people who suffered or lost relatives with the financial assistance. It will be UAH 2 thousand each,» – the Deputy Head of Department Lesia Drone declared, writes Newsone publication.

As it became known, 48 families of those killed in the air show disaster, will receive financial assistance. The total amount of payments is UAH 96,000.

It should be noted that the Sknyliv tragedy occurred on July 27, 2002, during the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the 14th Aviation Corps of the Air Force of Ukraine at the Sknyliv airfield in Lviv. As a result of the crash of the Ukrainian Air Force Su-27 fighter, 77 people died in the crowd, including 28 children. The tradegy affected about 250 people.

As The Journalist reported, a lightweight aircraft crashed under Sumy during the spraying of the field.
