Verkhovna Rada supported the draft resolution introduced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the appointment of Ruslan Riaboshapka to the post of Prosecutor General of Ukraine. This decision was supported by the MPs. The head of state signed a decree.
MPs from the European Solidarity voted against, the Opposition Platform – For Life abstain from voting.
Prior to that, Rada dismissed Lutsenko from the post of prosecutor general.
Zelensky signed decree #636 on the dismissal of Lutsenko from the post of Prosecutor General and decree #638 on the appointment of Riaboshapka to this position.
In addition, by decree #637, the president dismissed Riaboshapka from the post of deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
As The Journalist reported, Groisman government resigned.
