Illegally convicted in the Russian Federation on trumped-up charges of terrorism, a Ukrainian political prisoner Oleksandr Kolchenko was transferred to the punishment cell of Kopeisk Penal Colony No.6, Ukrinform reports.

Russian human rights activist Tatyana Shchur said that Kolchenko will be located in a punishment cell during the May holidays in the Russian Federation.

According to Shchur, a lawyer should be allowed to see a political prisoner on May 13.

“It seems that tomorrow, May 10, they are going to release him,” said the human rights activist.

The report notes that the prisoners were transferred to the punishment cell in Russian prisons due to the strengthening of the regime connected with holidays.

Recall that activist Oleksandr Kolchenko was detained in the Crimea along with director Oleg Sentsov in May 2014 on charges of preparing terrorist acts. A Russian court sentenced Kolchenko to 10 years in prison.

As The Journalist reported, Ukrainian political prisoner Pavlo Grib received 6 years in prison in Russia.
